Male Infertility

Male Fertility and Traditional Chinese Medicine
Many couples find it difficult to conceive, and whilst traditionally emphasis has been on treating the female, it is now estimated that as many as 35% to 40% of infertility cases are due to problems with male fertility.

Acupuncture may help in the treatment
of male infertility, by:

  • Lowering scrotal temperature (Siterman 2009)

  • Enhancing local microcirculation (Komori 2009)

  • Reducing inflammation (Zijlstra 2003)

  • By improving sperm maturation, increasing testosterone levels, and reducing liquid peroxidation of sperm (Crimmel 2001)

Amanda works with acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine or Chinese herbal medicine to try and improve male fertility.
